Do you have a Tuna Fisherman on your Gift List? Give him/her what they really want for any special occasion! 14 Big 15″ SQUIDS not 7 or 9 10″ or 12, FREE BAG, INCLUDES STINGER BAIT with 4X SS Hook! SPREADER BARS CATCH TUNA , MAHI MAHI, BILLFISH, KINGFISH and WAHOO. This bar with its larger profile on the water is built to bring up the big ones! 36 long Stainless Spring Steel bar made in USA with 5 drops. Teasers are 15″ premium silicon torpedo squid body skirts, each with 2 3″ floats inside the body. Hook bait is a 15″ weighted torpedo squid skirt with 2 oz weight, rigged on 60″ clear 200# Grand Slam Clear Mono, with a 12/0 forged 4X SS hook. Center drop is rigged on 200# Grand Slam Clear Mono clear mono straight thru from the 250# ball bearing swivel at the top of the bridle, to the 250# ball bearing swivel coast lock snap inside the last lure body to allow quick lure changes, in the event you fish the stinger on the bar. Outside lines have chafe protection and are rigged on 200# clear mono. I beefed up the Bridle on this bar by using 200# for the wings and one piece 200# from the top of the bridle to the ball bearing snap swivel in the last center line squid. It is still perfectly balanced for easy fishing. (Many of you already know my normal bridles are rigged with a 200# center line to the bar and 130# on the wings). Overall length from top to end of the center line skirt is just over 9 feet. The building it is hanging from is exactly 9 ft high. This item includes 40″ X 10″ purpose made premium spreader bar bag as shown. Do you want to catch. Tuna, Marlin, Mahi, and other Pelagics? Do you fish Big Water – Atlantic – GOM – or Pacific canyons or floaters? Feeding on big squids and mackerels? HERE IS YOUR NEXT SPREADER BAR!! This bar has 14 of the big bright “Rainbow” 15 long Squids. The Heavy Duty 36 Bar is ready to fish including the matching hook bait (12/0 4X Mustad hook) and Bag. SPREADER BARS CATCH TUNA, MAHI MAHI, BILLFISH, KINGFISH and WAHOO. The purpose of a spreader bar rig is to look like a “bait ball” that is being attacked by fish in a feeding frenzy. This draws other fish to the “easy meal”. The hook bait trailing the “bait ball” may have the illusion of a weaker member of the school that has become separated from the school. The birds look like the leading edge of the bait ball. When trolling for tuna I have 2 spreader bars (off each corner of my little center console) and 2 bird/daisy chain baits off the outriggers, all the same color combination, to create the illusion of a sizeable school of bait, being actively fed upon. The spreader bar may be deployed directly off a rod (use a 50 or 80 pound outfit) or the bar may be positioned and “tied off to a corner cleat” at the transom of the boat, or deployed off the first ring of the outriggers using a bridge reel. When using the “tied off” method of deployment you would position your hook bait off the rod tip close to the spreader bar teasers, about 3 to 5 ft of separation, or I use a small rubber band looped into my hook bait loop protector and snapped into the coast lock snap inside the last teaser of the center line so I get a release when a fish hits the hook bait. How you position your bait is your business, but that is how it is done on my boat. Now that you know a bit about what the spreader bar is trying to do, this is a new Heavy Duty 36 inch spreader bar. I rigged this bar with a 14 of the 15 inch torpedo squid as teasers, each squid on the bar has 2 3 cigar floats inside. The bar is rigged with 200 clear mono on the center line. The outside lines are 200# clear mono. I have rigged this bar with a trolling bridle that helps keep the bar straight while fishing. The bridle is made with 200# clear mono, no connections at the bar, just continuous from the top swivel to the ball bearing snap swivel. I DO run the line, inside a plastic chafe tube, through the center swivel, to help keep the alignment of the lines from the bar when fishing. I recommend that the stinger bait be attached to the last squid with a release clip, or a rubber band, so when that BIG ONE hits, you are fighting the fish only, and not the bar also. To facilitate that, the center last squid has a 250# ball bearing snap swivel, for attachment of your release clip, rubber band or stinger bait. The bar is rigged on 200# clear American Fishing Wire / Hi Seas “Grand Slam Mono”. The final squid on the center line has a swivel – coast lock snap hidden in it’s body for attachment of your hook bait (see picture, snap is almost to end of the tube body of the squid). I use a 250 pound ball bearing snap swivel so it is strong enough for the hook bait directly to it, or you may attach the hook bait with a release device, allowing you to fight the fish only after the strike. This item also includes 1 hook bait, a matching 15″ Grandad’s weighted Squid Body rigged on 60″ of 200# clear mono leader. I have included a SS thimble & loop protector at the top, and Forged 12/0 4XXXX Stainless Steel Big Game hook. This bar pulls beautifully at speeds of 5 to 11 knots. We use spreader bars for black fin and yellow fin tuna around deep water off shore oil platforms in the. And for mahi mahi, wahoo. They also make fantastic Blue and White Marlin teasers. This bar with the BIGGER, LONGER, HEAVIER squids than I normally use “Talks to the Big Ones”. My bars were very productive on tuna last year, and have already been productive on nice tuna and billfish this year from international customers. Thanks for the info but I believe my husband had whatever else he needed. Looking forward to doing business with you in the future! They used the teaser this weekend and brought in a 400lb blue marlin! They said he came right up to the teaser behind the boat then snagged a bait, really awesome.
